We believe that part of the provision
of good care is to ensure individuals are assisted to retain a fulfilling
lifestyle. At Avon Park our residents are encouraged and supported to
continue their hobbies and interests.
Regular residents meetings are held to discuss day to day activities and
life in the home and to arrange forthcoming activities and events. The
programme is then printed and handed out and also promulgated in the home.
Among the regular features of the events
programme are bingo; exercise to music; pot planting; visiting musicians
and a music workshop; art and cookery sessions; reminiscence activities;
special teas and dinner parties; summer bar-b-q's; outings to the seaside,
country parks and garden centres; pub lunches and shopping trips.
Some of our residents like to join in regularly, while others select the
activities that particularly appeal to them. We leave it up to the individual
to choose.
